Camille McCarley, FNP
Certified Functional Medicine Provider
I was born and raised in Arizona, and from a young age I knew I wanted to care for others. My healthcare journey began right after high school as a CNA, and soon after I became a Registered Nurse. In 2015, I earned my Master of Science degree from Northern Arizona University and have been serving as a Family Nurse Practitioner in Primary Care ever since.
Over the years, I’ve cared for many patients with chronic conditions and witnessed firsthand how the healthcare system sometimes falls short. Too often, patients struggle with fatigue, hair loss, difficulty losing weight, abdominal discomfort, and other symptoms. They’re prescribed multiple medications, yet the true root cause is rarely addressed.
My personal health journey gave me a deeper understanding of this struggle. After years of unexplained symptoms, I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Every doctor I saw prescribed a new medication for each symptom, and I was told I might lose my ability to walk in a few years without starting biologic treatments. Deep down, I believed there had to be another way. That search led me to explore Functional Medicine, which offered a different perspective from the Western medicine I had practiced for so long. In 2021, I became certified in Functional Medicine through The American Academy of Functional Health.
Today, Functional Medicine allows me to partner with patients in a new way—helping uncover the root causes of chronic illness and using nutrition and lifestyle changes to heal inflammation. This approach has not only improved my own health, but it has also helped many of my patients find relief from symptoms and rediscover the joy in their lives.
